Same-day cakes in Harare
Same-day cakes in Harare are sometimes possible at Cake Studio, but never guaranteed. Message us on WhatsApp before noon and we will tell you within minutes whether we can bake one for you today. If today is not possible, one business day's notice almost always is, with any of our 13 signature flavours from $40 for a 6-inch.

Can I actually get a cake today in Harare?
Sometimes. It depends on what is already in the studio, the time of day you message, and the size you need. A 6-inch buttercream cake in a flavour we are already baking has a real chance. A two-tier fondant build for tonight does not.
The factors that swing it from "no" to "maybe" are small size (usually 6-inch), a simple finish (buttercream and a written greeting rather than fondant figures or photo print), and a signature flavour we are likely to have batter or sponge already on the go that day. Most often that means Black Forest, Chocolate, Vanilla or Red Velvet.
What pushes it back to a firm "no": tiered cakes, character cakes for kids (which we ask for 3 to 5 days on), fondant builds, anything with edible photo print or a laser-cut topper, wedding cakes, Roora Day cakes, sugar-free (three days' notice), and eggless options (two days' notice).
Worth saying plainly: same-day is the exception. Cake Studio is Beverley and a small team baking to order from the Madokero studio. It is not a counter with a shelf of finished cakes to pick from.
What we can usually do same-day
If you message before noon and the bench has room, this is the realistic shortlist:
- A 6-inch signature cake in a flavour we are already baking that day. Black Forest, Chocolate, Vanilla and Red Velvet are the most likely to be available.
- A dozen or two of cupcakes by the dozen if we have batter ready (minimum 24 for delivery).
- A buttercream finish with a written greeting and a small simple decoration.
What we will not promise for the same day, even when we want to say yes:
- Fondant figures or sculpted character work
- Edible photo print (supplier lead time)
- Multi-tier or stacked cakes
- Sugar-free
- Eggless
- Laser-cut toppers

These lead times are not arbitrary. Fondant needs time to set. Character work is built, painted and dried in stages. Sugar-free recipes are confirmed in writing with you before we bake. None of that compresses into an afternoon without the cake suffering for it.
How to ask for a same-day cake
A short walkthrough:
- Message Beverley on WhatsApp at +263 78 432 0632 as early in the day as you can. Before noon is best.
- Tell us the size, the flavour, who it is for, when you need it, and whether you can collect from Madokero or need delivery.
- We reply within minutes during studio hours (Mon-Fri 09:00 to 17:00, Sat 09:00 to 13:00) with a yes or no and a written quote. Full payment confirms the slot, the same as any other anytime cake order.
One thing that matters: we do not take same-day orders by Instagram DM. WhatsApp only, so the message does not get missed in the middle of a bake. The full walkthrough lives on how ordering works.
If today is not possible, next day almost always is
Most "same-day" enquiries turn into next-day orders, and next-day is where we are most reliable. If we cannot fit you in today, message us anyway. Next-day signature cakes are our standard turnaround. The flavour is the same, the price is the same, and the cake is finished on the morning of delivery.
For context, our signature flavours run at $40 for a 6-inch, $50 for an 8-inch and $60 for a 10-inch in buttercream. One day's notice covers most flavours, though Black Forest with fresh cream sometimes needs 24 to 36 hours.
Delivery and pickup on a same-day order
Pickup at the Madokero studio is the fastest route. The cake is ready when we say it is ready, and you come at the time we agree. The studio is at 14305 Madokero Estates, Emagumeni Madokero Mall. Pickups are by appointment, not walk-in.
Harare delivery is quoted as a flat fee by zone, confirmed when you order. Same-day delivery slots are limited, because the driver schedule for the day is usually set by mid-morning. Pickup is more reliable than delivery on a same-day request. See delivery zones across Harare for the zone list.

Can I get a cake on the same day in Harare?

How late can I order a same-day cake?
Before noon is the realistic cut-off if you want a fair shot. After noon, the bench is usually committed to tomorrow's bakes and finishing today's deliveries. We will still reply and tell you either way, but the answer gets harder later in the day.
How much does a same-day cake cost?
The same as any other anytime cake. A buttercream 6-inch is $40, an 8-inch is $50, a 10-inch is $60. There is no rush surcharge. If we can do it, the price is the standard price for that size and flavour.
What flavours can I get on short notice?
Most likely Black Forest, Chocolate, Vanilla and Red Velvet, because those flavours are in steady rotation. The other signature flavours (Herman Canadian, Carrot, Death by Chocolate, Lemon Poppy Seed, Strawberry, Cookies and Cream, Marble, Orange Chiffon, Chocolate and Orange) are possible same-day but less likely.
Do you deliver same-day in Harare?
Sometimes. Same-day delivery slots are limited because the daily driver schedule is usually set by mid-morning. Pickup at the Madokero studio is more reliable on a same-day order. If we can fit a delivery in, we will quote the standard flat fee for your zone.
What if you cannot fit me in today?
Message us anyway. Next-day signature cakes are our standard turnaround and we can almost always say yes to tomorrow. The price and the flavour list do not change. Most same-day enquiries become next-day orders, and the cake gets the time it needs.
Do I still pay on a same-day order?
Yes. Anytime cakes (including same-day) are paid in full on confirmation, by USD cash, EcoCash, ZiG, or bank transfer. The slot is held once payment lands. The cancellation policy is the same as any other order: full refund more than 48 hours out, 50% within 48 hours, no refund within 24 hours.
Can I pay on collection?
Not for the cake itself. Anytime orders are paid in full when you confirm, before we start baking. If you are collecting from Madokero, payment is sorted by message ahead of time so the handover is just the cake going into your hands.
